These chocolate chip Dalgona cookies are perfect for any Dalgona coffee morning, where you can impress your family and friends with this unique chocolate recipe. I got the idea for these tasty Dalgona cookies when I had some extra whipped coffee left over from one of my many iced coffees and I wondered what this thick creamy coffee mixture would taste like in a chocolate chip cookie. So, I headed to my kitchen and got creative. After a few batches of cookies, I found the perfect blend of ingredients for the perfect Dalgona chocolate chip cookie.
These cookies melt with an indulgent chocolaty goodness, filling the kitchen with the reminiscent aroma of a premium coffee shop bakery.
What is Dalgona coffee?
Dalgona coffee got its name because its resemblance to Korean candy called Dalgona candy it’s very similar to the honeycomb toffee we can buy in the supermarkets. Dalgona coffee is a drink made by whipping equal portions of instant coffee granules, sugar, and hot water until it becomes thick and creamy, then simply adding it to ice cold or hot milk.
I’m so glad I tried out this trending coffee as it became my favorite summer time drink. In this recipe I used white chocolate chips to give a nice contrast to rich dark cookies. But if white chocolate is not your cup of tea you can be creative and add your favorite cookie toppings. I love to add walnuts or hazelnuts to my cookie recipes for that extra crunch.
The Equipment I Used To Make Dalgona Cookies
Its super simple to make, but I would recommend using a electric whisk. I had heard that you could whisk this gorgeous Dalgona coffee in just 300 whisks by hand, I took this challenge and failed miserably (I have this whisk challenge on my YouTube channel just in case you want a laugh). It definitely took way more than 300 whisks. My arms were aching after I had eventually finished, but I was rewarded with this super tasty ice coffee. Adding the whipped coffee to my chocolate chip cookies was a brilliant idea if I may say so myself, they were a big hit at my coffee mornings and was even asked for the recipe by a few of my friends.

How can I get all the cookies to come out the same size?
To make the cookies uniform in size you can use a a cookie scoop like the ones I use in the Dalgona cookie video ( https://youtu.be/RoGKBYmo3Tk?t=247 ). Or you could roll your cookie dough flat to your desired thickness using a rolling pin and then use a cookie cutter. It depends how far you want to go to make your homemade cookies look identical.
