Easy Strawberry Smoothie Recipe

If you’re anything like me, you love a recipe that’s fresh, simple, and packed with flavor. That’s exactly why I can’t stop making my easy strawberry smoothie. It’s a burst of sunshine in a glass, and it all starts with the strawberries I grow in my very own greenhouse.
There’s something so satisfying about using homegrown fruit. I’ve nurtured these strawberries from tiny blossoms to plump, juicy gems, and their flavor is unbeatable. If you don’t have your own greenhouse, don’t worry—fresh or frozen strawberries from the store work beautifully, too. But trust me, there’s a special joy in blending something you’ve grown yourself.

The Magic of Simple Ingredients

One of the things I love about this easy strawberry smoothie is how few ingredients it requires. You only need:

  • 250 ml of low-fat milk (or juice if you prefer a fruitier kick)
  • 120 g of strawberry Greek yogurt
  • 1 frozen banana, cut into chunks
  • 225 g of fresh or frozen strawberries

Every ingredient works together to create a creamy, naturally sweet treat. The Greek yogurt gives it a rich texture and a little tang, while the banana adds sweetness and creaminess without the need for added sugar.

How I Make It Perfect Every Time

I’ve made this smoothie so many times, I could probably do it with my eyes closed! Here’s how I do it:

  1. I start by layering the ingredients in the blender, starting with the liquid. This helps everything blend smoothly without getting stuck.
  2. Blend on high until the smoothie is creamy and dreamy. Sometimes, if it’s too thick, I’ll splash in a bit more milk or water.
  3. Before I pour it into a glass, I always taste it. If the strawberries weren’t at their peak sweetness, I might add a drizzle of honey, but honestly, it’s often perfect as is.

It’s as simple as that—three easy steps to the most delicious, refreshing smoothie you’ll ever try.

A Little Tip from Me to You

If you’re using fresh strawberries, try freezing them first. Frozen strawberries make the smoothie thicker and give it an almost milkshake-like consistency—so good! And if you’ve got extra strawberries on hand, freeze them in a single layer on a baking sheet before storing them in a bag. That way, you’ll always have the perfect base for this recipe ready to go.

Storing Your Easy Strawberry Smoothie

If you find yourself with leftover strawberry smoothie (although that rarely happens in my house!), you can store it in an airtight container or jar in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Give it a good shake or stir before drinking, as smoothies can separate over time. For longer storage, pour the smoothie into freezer-safe containers or even an ice cube tray, and freeze it for up to 3 months. When you’re ready to enjoy, simply let it thaw in the fridge or pop the frozen cubes into a blender with a splash of milk or juice for a quick refresh.

Notes

Tips and Tricks
  • Consistency Tip: If you prefer a thicker smoothie, use all frozen fruit and reduce the liquid slightly. For a thinner smoothie, increase the liquid.
  • Boost Nutrition: Add a handful of spinach or a tablespoon of chia seeds for extra nutrients.
  • Sweetness Adjustments: If your banana is very ripe, you likely won’t need extra sweetener.
  • Storage: Smoothies are best enjoyed fresh, but you can store leftovers in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Shake or stir before drinking.
