Hot chocolate bombs have become a bit of a trend at the moment. Especially now with the weather still being so cold. This hot chocolate recipe is quite fun to make and my kiddies absolutely love watching the chocolate melt and the mini marshmallows float to the top. I have to say that even I find it quite satisfying to watch too.

If you follow me on any of my social medias, you’ll know that I adore hot chocolate of any kind. These little bombs of happiness are no exception. They were a bit fiddley to make, but its nice to have a batch of already measured out hot chocolate for your convenience later.

Funny Story

I gave a hot chocolate bomb to an old friend of mine. She wondered why I had put a bath bomb in her mug. I couldn’t stop laughing at her face as I poured hot milk over it. She was like “you’re not expecting me to drink that are you?” Oh my goodness, I’m still laughing now. It was even funnier after I told her what it was. She told me what a big waste of time it was and asked me why couldn’t I just make hot chocolate like a normal person lol. I love the older generation; they just say it how they see it.

Where To Buy Hot Chocolate Bombs

I was looking for local places to buy hot chocolate bombs near me. Such as Tesco’s, Aldi and even Thorntons, but finding stores that stock these treats is difficult. Maybe our friends from across the pond have better luck in places like Walmart and Costco. But in the end, I had to buy the silicone molds on Amazon. This meant I had to go down the DIY route to make our hot chocolate bombs. These are the silicone molds I used:

Depending where you are in the world, you might be lucky enough to get same day or next day delivery. Now I’ll show you how to make the marshmallow hot chocolate bombs below.

Notes

Tips and tricks
I found that coating the chocolate twice in the molds before popping them out worked best, this insured that the edges wouldn’t break while trying to get them out. Once your chocolate molds are refrigerated make sure to keep them cool when you work with them, otherwise they melt in a warm environment.
