Cone s’mores are one of those treats that can be enjoyed any time of year. I make these in the summer for an after-BBQ treat, in the autumn when we are sitting around the fire pit, and on occasion I’ve even made these as a movie night snack. As a family we all love different variations of this melted gorgeous gooey treat. I love to add squares of brownie to mine, my boys love peanut butter and the girls love the chocolate and raspberries combo. I love making my s’mores in cones as it crates less mess and I never get sticky fingers.
These peanut butter waffle cone s’mores taste like Reese’s peanut butter cups, they are seriously delicious and well worth making. The combination of the chocolate, peanut butter and melted marshmallows just complement each other perfectly.
How to make cone s'mores
Cone s’mores couldn’t be any easier to make, Simply fill your waffle cone with marshmallows and a few of your favorite treats. Next wrap each filled cone tightly with foil making sure there are no gaps, you don’t want your melted s’mores to leak out while their cooking. Cook over a BBQ grill or campfire for about five minutes. Remove from the heat, wait a couple of minutes before unwrapping them as the foil will be super-hot, When the marshmallows and chocolate melt together it becomes a splendid gooey treat, we all call s’mores. Absolute perfection.
What is the best kind of chocolate to use in s'mores?
The best kind of chocolate to use for s’mores would be milk chocolate, the Americans favor their famous Hershey bars but in the UK the Cadbury’s Dairy Milk bars will do the same job. Milk chocolate has a higher cocoa butter content which makes it much easier to melt than dark chocolate it’s also a little sweeter making s’mores a very scrumptious campfire dessert.
