Sangria
Ingredients
- 750 Milliliters Light red wine
- 100 Milliliters Spanish brandy
- 1/2 Grapefruit chopped
- 1 Apple chopped
- 1 Orange juiced
- 200 Grams Berries we used blueberries, red grapes, and green grapes
- 3 Tablespoon Caster sugar
- 1 Cinnamon stick
- Ice optional
- Sparkling water optional
Instructions
- Begin by preparing the fruit. Chop the grapefruit and apple into small chunks.1/2 Grapefruit, 1 Apple
- In a large jug, combine the chopped grapefruit, apple chunks, and mixed berries.200 Grams Berries
- Pour in the Spanish brandy and squeeze the juice of one orange into the jug.100 Milliliters Spanish brandy, 1 Orange
- Add the caster sugar and cinnamon stick to the mixture.1 Cinnamon stick, 3 Tablespoon Caster sugar
- Slowly pour in the light red wine, stirring gently to combine all the ingredients.750 Milliliters Light red wine
- If desired, add ice to the sangria to chill it further.
- Optionally, top up the jug with sparkling water for a lighter, fizzier sangria.Ice, Sparkling water
- Serve the sangria in glasses with a spoonful of fruit in each serving.
Notes
- Use a light, fruity red wine for the best flavor. Spanish varieties like Rioja work well.
- For a sweeter sangria, you can add more caster sugar to taste.
- Let the sangria sit in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
- Feel free to customize the fruit selection based on personal preference or what's in season.
