This cherry sauce recipe is perfect for topping and filling all kinds of desserts, anything from cherry pies to topping chocolate brownies. Its quick and super easy to make too.
Into a small saucepan add in the water, cornstarch, lemon juice and sugar and whisk together.
60 ml Water, ½ tbsp Cornstarch, ½ tbsp Lemon juice, 1 tbsp Sugar
Heat the sweet mixture over a medium heat, keep whisking until it starts to thicken.
Now add in your cherries and bring to a light boil, stirring occasionally until the cherry sauce has thickened. This should take about 8-10 minutes.
Remove your cherry sauce from the heat and cool at room temperature, it will thicken as it cools.
Once cool transfer your cherry sauce to a glass storage jar/container and cover, store it in the fridge until ready to use.

Tips and TricksYou can use frozen cherries if you wish, you'll need to use slightly less water (around 50mls) and cook over a medium heat for a few extra minutes.
