Instructions
Wash the fresh mint leaves and cucumber. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
1 Handful Fresh mint leaves,
1/2 Medium Cucumber
Finely chop the fresh mint leaves and grate the cucumber using a cheese grater. Squeeze and discard any excess liquid from the grated cucumber.
Combine the chopped mint leaves, grated cucumber, and Greek yogurt in a mixing bowl.
400 Milliliters Greek yogurt
Squeeze the juice from half a lemon using a lemon juicer and add it to the bowl.
1/2 Lemon
Mince the garlic and add it to the mixture.
1 Teaspoon Garlic
Stir all the ingredients together until well combined.
Please feel free to taste and adjust seasoning if needed, and add more lemon juice or garlic according to your preference.
Serve the tzatziki immediately or chill it in the refrigerator for a couple of hours to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
Tips and Tricks
You can peel the cucumber before grating if you prefer a smoother texture in the dip.
Tzatziki tastes best when served chilled, so refrigerate it for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Feel free to garnish with a sprig of fresh mint or a drizzle of olive oil before serving for an extra touch of flavor.
