These gorgeous vanilla and chocolate Christmas red nose reindeer cupcakes make the perfect festive treat. Reindeer Christmas cupcakes look super cute and taste delicious too.
Before you start making your reindeer cupcake mix, the first thing to do is preheat your oven to 190°c or 375°f
Second line your muffin tin with paper cupcake cases. Grab yourself a large mixing bowl or stand mixer. Add the butter and start to cream the butter for a couple of minutes until it’s smooth and creamy.
250 g Unsalted butter
Then add in the caster sugar and give it another good mix until its all creamed together.

Add in the eggs one at a time and beat your cupcake mix on a high speed.
4 Medium Eggs
Add in the milk and vanilla extract and mix again.
3 tablespoons Milk, 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
Lastly add in the flour and salt, mix on a medium speed for a minute until the cupcake mixture is well incorporated.
250 g Self-raising flour, 1 Pinch Salt
Divide your Christmas cupcake batter between the cake cases filling each one up ¾ full.
Bake your cupcakes for 18-20 minutes in your preheated oven. To test if the cupcakes are cooked, simply poke the center of one of the cakes with a skewer. If it comes out clean its done, if there is a little cake batter stuck to it, pop it back into the oven for a couple more minutes.
Once baked leave the cupcakes in the muffin tin for a few minutes to cool before transferring them to a wire rack to finish cooling properly.
How to decorate the Red Nose Reindeer cupcakes
First add in the icing sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla extract and water into a mixing bowl and stir until you have a smooth chocolate glaze icing (you may need to add in a little more water to get a runnier consistency).
150 g Icing sugar, 27 g Cocoa powder, 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract, 3 tablespoons Water
Add about a teaspoon of glaze icing to the top of each vanilla cupcake.
Now for Rudolph’s face, you’ll need to make the eyes from the white and black fondant icing. Simply make two white circles using your white fondant icing. Then make two smaller black circles and stick them together with a drop of water so they look like eyes (make 24 eyes altogether).
20 g White fondant, 20 g Black fondant
Next the famous red nose, use the red fondant and roll it into 12 small round balls.
250 g Red fondant
Lastly brake up a few pretzels so they resemble antlers, place the antlers, eyes and red noses onto each cupcake. There you have it, Rudolph the red nose reindeer cupcakes. These cupcakes not only look super cute but they taste amazing too.

Tips & TricksMake sure the vanilla cupcakes have fully cooled before adding the Reindeer toppings, as the chocolate glaze wont set properly.When making the eyes out of the fondant use a tiny drop of water to hold the eyes together.You could also buy candy eyes if you don't have time to make tiny fondant eyes.Breaking the pretzels can sometimes be a little tricky so if your having trouble just add to whole pretzels to each cupcake instead.
