This pumpkin puree recipe is so simple to make, tastes absolutely delicious and can be used in so many pumpkin inspired recipes, such as pumpkin pie, pumpkin spiced lattes and peanut butter to name a few.
First thing to do before you start making the pumpkin puree is to preheat your oven to 200°c or 400°f.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set to one side.
Cut your pumpkin in half then take out all the seeds and pulp using a spoon.
1 Small Pumpkin
Sprinkle the pumpkin with a little salt and place it onto your lined baking sheet with the cut side down and skin facing upwards.
1 Pinch Salt
Place your prepped pumpkin on the middle shelf of your preheated oven and bake for 45-60 minutes or until the pumpkin flesh is soft and the skin is slightly caramelized in color.
Now remove the pumpkin skins and place the pumpkin flesh into a blender. Blend your pumpkin flesh for about 2-4 minutes.
Keep blending your pumpkin until very smooth and all the lumps have gone. There you have it homemade pumpkin puree.
